the lab is fantastic... renee and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. location is perfect just two mins walk to all bars and restaurants but no noise, we will definately be back chaz and aoife

I have stayed in many hostels and would glady stay again here! The staff (Renee in particular) were incredibly helpful right from the start in making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Free breakky is always a bonus when traveling on a budget and the location was awesome. Just prepare yourself for the free pubcrawl, its epic. All in all this hostel is fun and easy going, with all the facilities needed for a great stay in Queenstown. ENJOY!

Firstly the staff and the owners are young, fun and extreemely helpful. The free b'fast is awesome. True b'packer experience - cheap, fun and a bit grungy. Favours the younger crowd with party atmosphere. Clean beds and very hot showers. Ski amenities lacking - poor drying room, board racks unsecure and no tuning areas. Great location with 2 min walk to center of town! A wrinkles to iron out but a fun place overall!

This place is in a very good location just off the main street. Queenstown isn't that big, so you really don't need a location right in the center. The staff was extremely helpful helping me book my snowboarding trip to Treble Cone. Only showers on one side of the building worked, but the staff told me before i tried to use the other ones. Good to know since it was winter. Would stay at again.

If I was to look up 'The Lab' in a travel dictionary I would recommend these words are included 'fun, amazing, adventure and great holiday.' Just set back from the main strip it was the perfect location to hit the heart of Queenstown but quiet enough to get a good nights sleep when I 'finally' got to bed. The crew there were amazing. They didn't only work hard but they were genuinely caring, friendly peeps out to make sure we had the best time. For the price we paid I was stoked at the value.

Although I wouldn't expect it to happen, anyone could have walked in without a key and gained access to room 6. Thankfully the staff we're great and had no problems in stashing my expensive gear in their private safe in the staff quarters. Lovely relaxed people all round and made some good mates. Hot tub looked good, but didn't go in. Maybe next time.

Loved it! Location is ideal,at the top of Shotover st, so easy access to shops,bars,cafes and ski shuttles. The Hot Spa out the back is amazing, the rooms are clean, the new owners are doing a really good job freshening the places up. The lodge is fun, frindly and really sociable with Free Pub crawl, BBq on terrace and Breakfast each morning.

Will be a good hostel when it gets on its feet but cold showers, whole place needs a good hoover and bunk beds bit shoddy. There for three days and our dorm room wasnt cleaned once or beds changed.   Read Owner Comments

Good Location. Nice rooms. The guys had just taken over the hosel a day before I arrived. I think they will do really well.
